The Cat Nook Library

This library renovation has transformed what was once a mish-mash of different, broken shelves from second-hand stores into a sophisticated and moody sanctuary. The new design features dark, rich wood shelving that seamlessly wraps around the four corners of the room, creating an immersive and cohesive environment for book lovers. Each built-in shelf is meticulously organized, holding a diverse collection of books that beckon visitors to explore their pages.

Previously, nothing matched, everything was broken, and there wasn't enough space to properly display the client's macabre collection of curiosities and prestigious awards for being a highly ranked chef. Now, the top shelves are adorned with these intriguing artifacts and antique sculptures, each piece illuminated by subtle built-in lighting that casts a warm, almost mysterious glow. These carefully chosen decorations add a layer of depth and personal character to the room, evoking a sense of history and timelessness.

The ceiling features a coffered design, adding a touch of classic elegance and enhancing the room's architectural interest. The lighting, soft and focused, creates dramatic shadows that play across the woodwork, adding to the room's moody ambiance.

The hardwood flooring complements the dark wood shelves, grounding the space with its deep, natural tones. The window area now has a

purrfect cat nap nook for those days when all you want to do is cuddle up with a good book and a furry friend. The nook also features a pull-out bench where the client's cat, Elvis, loves to hide away his day.

This renovation has transformed the library from a haphazard collection of mismatched, broken shelves into a place of quiet reflection and contemplation, where the beauty of the surroundings enhances the experience of reading and discovery. The overall effect is one of refined elegance and intimate seclusion, perfect for escaping into the pages of a book.
